If you or your child is involved in sports, then you probably know how important mouthguards are.

Mouthguards tend to be viewed as only protecting your teeth. However, they protect more than just that. Mouthguards protect an athletes lips, jaw, tongue, and face from impact.

Parents should know that there are not many sports or recreational activities that shouldn’t be played without a mouthguard. Sports such as basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, skateboarding, skiing, racquetball and many more should be performed with a mouthguard.

We want all of our patients and their families to live a life free of dental health issues. Besides proper hygiene and routine check-ups, protecting your teeth and mouth from injury is an essential part of keeping a healthy smile.
