    Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances that can be used to replace missing teeth. If you are missing teeth, dentures can help restore your smile.

Dentures are removable appliances composed of a gum-colored base and artificial teeth that can help restore your smile. If you are missing teeth and looking for replacement options, dentures are a great option to consider.

    What are conventional dentures?

Conventional dentures are used when all of the patient’s teeth are missing or have been extracted. The tissues must be healed before dentures can be fabricated.

    What are immediate complete dentures?

Immediate complete dentures are different than conventional dentures because they are worn as soon as all the teeth have been removed. The main benefit is that you will not have to go without teeth while you are waiting for your mouth to heal from extractions. Immediate complete dentures are crafted using measurements of your mouth before the teeth are removed. You will need to come see us periodically for adjustments with these appliances.

    What are implant supported dentures?
With implant supported dentures, the denture actually snaps onto the implants that are placed into your jaw. This gives the denture a very stable feeling in the mouth. You will be able to chew and smile with confidence.

    What are Digital Dentures?

Digital Dentures are the latest in denture technology. They are made from computer scans, designed with computer software and milled on a CAD CAM machine. This process eliminates distortions that occur with conventional denture fabrication which means a better fit for you. Your denture scan is stored electronically and if you were to lose or break your denture and an exact duplicate can be ordered with a phone call.

How do I care for my dentures?

To keep your dentures functioning and looking great for years to come, it is important to take proper care of them. Take your dentures out and rinse them off every time you eat to prevent any leftover food particles from getting trapped. Most importantly, you must continue to care for your mouth. Brush your gums, tongue, and the roof of your mouth regularly and wash your dentures with denture cleaner every night.

If you are missing teeth and looking for a replacement option to restore your smile, you may be a good candidate for dentures. Call our office at (937)-284-4500 to learn more and to schedule a consultation to see if dentures are right for you.
